Homeschooling Classes are offered from September to May and run from 9:30 to 2 pm.

They are available for children ages 4-16, with the option of enrolling for a semester or for just one class.

Class size is small, ranging from 6-10 children, so that each student's interests can be explored.

For the 2011 Fall semester (Sept, Oct, Nov Dec):
Fees are $100/child payable in September

For the 2012 Spring semester (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May):
Fees are $125/child payable in January

For both semesters there also is the option of $30/child per drop-in class. Also for both semesters, families with 3 or more children, pay half price for the third+ child. Scholarships are available.  Fees cover snacks and all materials. Students bring their own drinks and lunches.

We design each class's individual curriculum, and we also can work with your homeschool curriculum and incorporate your nature requirements into our program.

Some of the nature topics we have covered to date in our homeschooling program include:

  • Acorn Harvesting
  • Local Mammals of New England
  • Native American Lore
  • Wildlife Tracking
  • Stone Walls of MA
  • Insect Diversity
  • Hawks and Owls
  • Wilderness Survival
  • Mushrooms and other Fungi
  • Nature Journaling
  • Vernal Pool Life Cycles
  • Our Local Reptiles and Amphibians

Many other topics are available for exploration, and each class will be tailored to the interests of the individual students.

What to bring:  Lunch and a drink.  And be sure to wear clothes and footwear that can get dirty and wet.
