Homeschooling classes are available for children ages 4-14 and can be given as a one-time class or an ongoing monthly program. Class sizes are small and range from 5-10 children so that the interests of each individual student can be met.
Fees are $20/student, with a family maximum of $50, and cover snacks and all materials. Students bring their own drinks and lunches.
At Hands On Nature we provide two options for homeschoolers.
The first is to work with your homeschool curriculum and incorporate your nature requirements into our program. Topics that we are working on this year with students are fungi, wildlife tracking, wilderness survival, maple sugaring, and Native American lore.
The second option is our Naturalist Walk program. This program changes each month, and offers new material which changes seasonally. Topics that we have covered to date in our homeschooling program include:
Many other topics are available for exploration, and each class will be tailored to the interests of the individual students.
What to bring: Lunch and a drink. And be sure to wear clothes and footwear that can get dirty and wet.
